Roses are red, Violets are blue
These are my sisters who keep me true
For if not for them I could never be
Here they are for all to see,
Brought up by their love
Has made a man who wouldn’t hurt a dove
To be a part of their world was a little rough
But from their lessons I became tough,
Sure our mother dressed them funny
But the outside isn’t what matters
The inside was as warm as a bunny
I am sure those clothes are now all in tatters,
In order to take them serious
You must think I would have to be delirious
But I kid you not, they’re all I’ve got
And one could do worse from those who carry a purse.
For if not for them, I’d be a has been
So you must understand from this man
I tell you true, I am not blue
To be the little brother of some other,
To the two of you who do what you do
I am super happy to be from the same mammy and pappy
Thank you oh so very much for keeping in touch
No matter what the matter you’ve always mattered.
When they ask me where did I get my frame of mind
I will say from the two who have taught me to be kind
And forever will you be in my heart
Helping me to remember we’re never apart,
So take a gander at their light
And judge not their plight
For theirs is so bright
It could never cause a blight,
The magic’s in the music and the music’s in me
Because they’re the magic that makes the music in me
Be seen so free for all to see in me
No one could ever take away the magic they’ve given to me!
