Bowls Section
Brinscall & Withnell Athletic & Recreational Association
The idea of a bowling green at Brinscall was formed by a group of local members and was officially opened on the 9th April 1983 when the first ever "Mick Woods Trophy" was played for. 
This is still one of the major competitions amongst other named trophies held annually by the club throughout the summer. Competitions are played by the members-Ladies,Gents and Mixed. Brinscall has 4 league teams, 2 in the Chorley League and 2 in the Darwen League.The Bowling season runs from April to October and as well as "Serious Bowls" we have "Fun Days Bowling" and various social events through out the year in the clubhouse with entertainment and dancing. New members are always welcome, the current membership fee for the section is a very reasonable £21.50. Adults £10.00.
