Roger on YouTuba, oops - YouTube
Back on Carson, this time sitting beside Doc Severinsen. Pianist is Zita Carno.
Not Roger Bobo! But interesting nonetheless...
This is the St. Louis children's chorus. The title of the piece is Roger Bobo Plays the Tuba. The composer is Brian Holmes; Anyone know who the tubist is? It’s not Roger, and it’s not John Stevens.
The composer comments:
My piece is based on a poem called "Recital" by John Updike. My musical setting compounds the silliness [of the poem]. The music was written for the Cantabile Children's Chorus; Signe Boyer led them in in the premier in 2002. It has been published by Roger Dean Publishing Company (Catalogue number 15/1736R, price $2.25.) There have been quite a few performances. A new version with mixed chorus instead of treble chorus has been performed, but it is not yet in print. Anyone who wants a copy of that version should contact me through www.myspace.com/profcabbage.
