[midshi] was founded in 2003 by Fabian Rucker, Stephan Kondert and Andreas Lettner.  From the beginning on their aim was to develop a new sound for the traditional trio with saxophone, bass and drums.

In 2005 they released their CD “Wege“ (JazzitEdition) which had great reviews in the press.

[midshi] only play originals influenced mostly by contemporary jazz (out of NYC), hip hop, contemporary classical music...

In their compositions they always leave enough space for energetic collective improvisations. Sometimes fragile and poetic in the next moment rough and industrial.

They always are on their way to develop new things such as odd metres, polymetres... and to reinvent themselves.
