HUGE SUCCESS!  Second Annual Atwater Beach Party - Saturday, August 8, 2009

Despite threatening weather early on Saturday, the show went on and great times were had by all at the Second Annual Atwater Beach Party on August 8th.

The Story of Atwater Beach

As early as 1916, the village government authorized the construction of a flight of steps to the beach from the little park at the top of the bluff.  And thus was born Atwater Beach.  A wooden dressing house and wooden pier were constructed at the water’s edge which was soon replaced by three concrete jetties and a beach house in the 1930’s.

What a great event!  The first Annual Atwater Beach Party was a success!  500 meals served (sold out!), huge volunteer turnout and support, big media attention, good family fun for a great beach!
