Many people have contributed to the development of the field of evolutionary computation in Europe as well as the success of the EvoStar events over the years, stretching back from the first EuroGP and EvoRob workshops held in 1998. 

This year Bill Langdon and Marc Schoenauer were awarded the EvoStar Award for Outstanding Contribution of Evolutionary Computation in Europe, presented by Riccardo Poli, Wolfgang Banzhaf and Jennifer Willies, the previous recipients of the award.
