Now, that we’ve got the basics covered with the Destroyer conversion, let’s get to some more advanced techniques. My warjack of choice here will be Juggernaut. This is the second jack from the starter box and still one of the most stalwart in the whole Khadoran arsenal. I’m sure that everybody has one, and that every other Juggernaut cries for some green stuff and it’s fair share of cutting and pinning.

The standard pose suffers from the same problems as the Destroyer, so many steps, as well as the general principals, will be exactly the same. Most issues I’ve already covered with detail in my previous article on Destroyer, so here I’m taking a liberty of making some omissions. If you somehow feel lost, just get back to the ‘lesson 1’ and you’ll be fine.

Firstly cut the legs to pieces following guidelines from the previous tutorial. I want my Jugger to run viciously and unrelentlessly, like the beating machine that he is, so I’ve positioned the legs accordingly.

You can see the end result on the right.

The next step is to dry fit the torso and the legs in search for the perfect positioning. Try imagining what the Juggernaut would be doing, which direction he’d be looking. When you’ll make your decision glue the head and position it the way you like.

Then one of the most important steps comes in - GSing the arm joints.

We’ve smoothed them out, but regardless of what we’d do, it still wouldn’t be good enough, so we need to round them up with GS. Don’t put too much on, just enough to make it nice and round. You’ll probably notice that you’re leaving your fingerprints all over the GS - it’s easy to fix, just dip your fingers in water and stroke the GS gently. It should help.

Now it’s time to deal with the upper torso.

This one is going to be tricky, so pay attention. As you know, Khadoran jacks have some weird armour plate covering the arm joints on the torso. The practical purpose for them remains unknown - how can they twist their arms with this bit of metal in the way is beyond me. Fluff aside, we need to deal with this problem if we want more freedom with arm positioning, otherwise all we can do is to stick the pistons into the arm hole and call it a day.

What we have to do, is to use brute force to remove both armour plates altogether. I, for instance, have a nifty little Dremel-like tool at home which I’ve used to scrape the excess of pewter. The result is as above.

You can also use a sharp modelling knife (X-acto or something) but this method is substantially more cumbersome. If you’ll end up using Dremel, make sure to put some googles on - flying pewter is sharp and can damage your eyes!

When you’ve cut/sawed/scraped off those pesky armour plates it’s time to smooth things out. I used my trusty Dremel again, this time with a metal brush head. Works wonders!

When you’re done with that, it’ll be the high time to glue on the stamps you have prepared for this warjack (if any).

My precious baby belongs to the famous 5th Border Legion, but I also got struck at the time by the amazing artwork of Sorscha and her trusty Juggernaut found in Escalation, so I’ve made mine the same way.

Give the Green Stuff full 24 hours to thoroughly dry, and no, that doesn’t mean that you can go and play with your console - there’s still some work to be done!

I assume you already have an idea for the arm positioning, so start mercilessly drilling holes in them! This time I’ve used two 3mm brass rods for the arms and two guitar ‘A’ strings to make them look even more awesome. Remember - awesomesauce is your aim!

Note: I’ve made one rod longer than the other to make a stronger joint.

Right now just focus on the GS and excuse the lack of proper amount of pictures...

When you have the brass rods and strings in place, grab this 6mm copper pipe that lies on your desk and saw off two equal pieces that will make a good looking doodads at the arm joints.

The end result should look something like that:

Now, do you see? Do you see?!

All that is left is to fill the gaps inside the copper pipe with GS and to glue together the lower and upper body. And... IT’S ALIVE!

You’re going down, doggy!
