13. Photoshop CS3: Essential Skills - shipping

The wait is over... I have received my author copy of Photoshop CS3: Essential Skills. If you have placed an advance order with Amazon.com I suspect you too have yours. If you live outside of USA or Canada I suspect your copy is winging its way to you as I type. I hope you are as pleased with the book as I am.

The cover design was updated, just before release, to highlight the eight hours of movie support and royalty free high resolution images on the new supporting DVD (a pretty unique feature). With this release the product has become more of a training package than just a book (a response to the positive feedback from the movies included on the CD that was shipped with Photoshop CS2: Essential Skills book).

The images and movies from the CS2 book are now available from the following URL. A permanent link has also been posted on the main page of the blog.

A big thanks is due to Mark Lewis, the meticulous technical reviewer for the new CS3 book, who has made sure that every step of every tutorial is absolutely crystal clear. This has been the most comprehensive technical review I have had in the last 12 years of writing. If you are a fan of the CS2 book you will be interested to hear that more than half of this book is completely new and the book has grown bigger and better with age. The major changes were required due to the significant workflow changes that Photoshop CS3 heralds. The Raw > Smart Object > Smart Filter workflow meant the original step-by-step tutorials needed more than a quick makeover.

As I work with the software over the next 12 months I will be posting podcasts and blogs to ensure that all the readers get the most from the text and the software.

Mark
