You actually use these laminated Lock - Drill - Templates to locate the drilling point of the lock in the door match the colour of the keyhole on the door with the keyhole on the Drill Template.

Take the laminated Template and line keyhole up against the

door- keyhole where the lock is and mark through the drilling point with a bradawl or marker then drill a small hole.
