i dream of tea and scones, but alas the perfect coffee-shop-scone recipe hasn’t come my way!
i’m always perplexed with the pronunciation. is it sk-ON , like the brits and my father claim, or is it sk-OWN as in thr-OWN (throne) , as my mother adamantly argues?
i haven’t a clue - any guesses
**update: let me just scratch the above claim that I haven’t found the PERFECT coffee-shop-scone, oh, because I have! see The Quintessential Scone for proof, they are to-die-for and the recipe is incidentally stolen from the best coffee shop/ restaurant.
