“And life is nice, so nice...” Happy Birthday Rich!

A Night at Marquee...it’s been awhile, quite awhile. And I do try to avoid going out on the weekends (and/or two nights in a row). But Rich Thomas is one of the nicest guys in New York, and last night was his 35th Birthday Party. So as tempting as it was to stay in, I decided to rock out. And that I did...good times, great crowd, perfect night. So much for stopping by for an hour...

I arrived at Marquee around 12:45 and the room Rich had roped off for his friends was reasonably packed, which is why it took me a little while to locate people I knew. Eventually, however, I found them...Stephanie Wei, Liam McMullan, and Dabney Mercer.

Liam wore my sunglasses at night:
and every time I tried to leave, the DJ cranked out a song that put me back in the jungle. I thoroughly enjoy parties during which people a) actually dance and b) wear sunglasses at night and c) know that there isn’t someone skulking around from Gawker or the Observer.

Then, just as I had finally resolved to be a good misfit and go home around 2:30, they rolled out the cupcakes...
clearly, steph was a little excited for these cupcakes.

I’m actually loving Stephanie’s moves in these pictures...

Rich was also the host of hosts. When I first came in and hadn’t yet found my friends, he introduced me to his beautiful wife Tamie (hadn’t met her yet...she’s lovely) and some other friends. He also must’ve checked on me/my friends about a dozen times to make sure we were having fun. And we did. Everyone had a phenomenal time. Time of departure? It was Marquee déjà vu: 3AM. Well worth it.

Happy Birthday Rich and thanks for the good times. Xo, E
