At Luca Iacovoni’s invitation, Carmelo Plateroti and Steve Eorio attended the WPM representing the SoCal DMC (Ducati Monster’s Club).  Ian Journey and Rushdi Abdul Cader represented DOCS.  Our two weeks in Italy, started in Bologna and touched ground in Venice, Florence, Luca, Cinque Terra, and Pisa.  Carmelo served as our translator, tour guide and cultural ambassador for two weeks of riding and exploring.  The 2009 WPM was the quintessential gearhead trip.   One week riding Ducati’s through the Italian countryside and even experiencing the world’s most famous motorcycling road, the futa pass.   Visits to the Ducati, Ferrari, and Lamborghini factories were memorable, as were the over indulgent meals of pasta, vino and of course Rushdi’s least favorite: Maialle.
