Things are progressing but slowly. Crystal is still constantly in pain, and is frustrated. She was able to get a hold of the doctor today after playing phone tag for a while. She described her symptoms of continued increasing pain and other things. The doctor reassured her that she is right on track despite the issues. He said that things should start changing in a day or two. Change means for the worse and more pain. He is expecting the cyst to burst, which he assures us is the normal case and should be expected. This is going to cause Crystal a significant amount of pain, please pray for her strength as she faces that. If you can just imagine knowing that their is a small “bomb” inside your body waiting to go off! No fun.
Throughout this last week, we have been encouraged on every side. Being here at our mission has given us ample opportunity to be around people who are dedicated to seeing our get through this.
I’ve been reading through the book of Job recently, and although i would hardly align our struggles with that of Jobs, there are similarities. In the past we frequently asked the constant question “why” while going through our struggles, but in reading through Job i found a glimpse of hope. In his first conversation with his friend he was reminded “Is not your fear of God your confidence, and the integrity of your ways your hope?” With that you can pretty much progress through any circumstance. No matter what the circumstance, God is our stay and we are sure of the integrity of our ways and our confidence in God to glorify Himself.
I will do my best to keep you all well informed.
Please continue in your prayers for us. We have no greater desire than we do right now to get back to Costa Rica and continue with our studies. But first things first, Crystal must get better!
