Been thinking about Paul’s comment in 2 Corinthians 12 where he pleaded with God to take away his “thorn in the flesh”. God would not take it away whatever it was, but said instead that His strength is made perfect in weakness. I have been reading the book Twelve Ordinary Men about the apostles, i haven’t made it very far, just through the first chapter. The first chapter is about Peter, and I began to think about this verse about weakness. Those apostles really had little to offer God, they weren’t very religious if at all, and we know little of their lives before they became apostles other than their occupations. It makes no sense why God would have chosen these men other than He wanted to display His perfect strength through their great weakness.
Throughout the past few months I’ve been thinking about my adequacy to be the missionary that God would have me to be, and all of my inabilities flood my mind. I’m an introvert, I’m reserved, I’m not the most knowledgeable person in the world, so many reasons why I hold myself back at times, but exactly what God wants to display His awesome and fierce power!
