Yes, I am a Harry Potter Addict.  I spend most of my free time reading fan fiction of the slash variety.

I have been known to beta read fic for friends, but a lack of time and a short attention span has put that on the back burner for now.

I am the primary Moderator of Harry Slash on both Live Journal and Insane Journal, but am pretty hands off as far as contests and such.

Currently life has thrown a sleep disorder (not exactly delayed sleep phase syndrome, but similar) at me, so I spend most of my time either sleeping or reading.

I am also making slow but steady progress with my lap-band weight loss surgery of September, 2008.

My primary ship is Snarry (Harry/Severus), but in all honesty, I’m a ship whore - I’ll read anything with a good plot and a little bit of smut!

I adore Harry/Ron and Harry/Draco, as well as fics with a canon Neville (shy and a little chubby).

I approve of, respect and appreciate the work being done towards removing pedophiles from areas where children and teens congregate, however, I believe that it is also the responsibility of the parent or guardian to raise their children, it is not my job to do it for you. Adults should never go after children, but one must also realize that often times children (teens) go looking for the adults.

There are many different products to help you monitor your child's actions on the web. Buy one. Password lock your computer and instant messenger programs. Be in the room when they use the computer. Be interested in their friends and check their text messages and cell phone calls. Know that camera phones take pictures of more than you think your child capable of. Same goes for digital cameras. BE INVOLVED in your child's life, as I certainly cannot do it for you, and if you find out that your child has been conversing with a 42 year old posing as a 13 year old, ask yourself "WHERE WAS I?" (after you press charges on the sicko and ground your kid, of course)

I say these things not as a moral absolutist, or even a parent, but rather as a twenty-something who remembers being fourteen, sixteen, eighteen, even twenty-three! You are never so old that you will not make foolish choices once in a while.
