REVIEWS
Rebirth is a brand new pair of Nikes under your nose. Inhale deep sniff hell. There isn't a better feeling in the world than walking down the avenue in a new pair of kicks, feets blazing. Makes you a new man. This is a beautifully produced book out to explore and document the sneaker phenomenon; a slickly designed tribute for sneaker heads, by sneaker heads. As such, they focus on the desirable, rare and controversial shit. Hundreds of photographs and snippet interviews, vintage advertisements, and long pieces are randomly pulled together with a thick rotation of sneaker-inspired art. It's like a box stacked full of clippings everything sneaker, assembled into two page collages with accompanying text. You have to hunt through it and it's one of those books that you will never stop finding new stuff in. Spotlights on Jordans, Insta-Pumps, all Adidas, Vans, DC, Converse, Air Max, the infamous Air Allah, the underbelly of the collecting world, people's entire collections, gang sneakers, Japanese sneaker magazines, customizing, lacing, more and more. Once had a fetish for the smell straight the box. (reviewed by mgmnt)

I stumbled across this book one night and what a very pleasent surprise it is!! There's a piece about Marty Mcfly's hi-tech Nike sneakers from Back To The Future 2 which was really nice to see, I've wanted a pair since the first time I saw the film. There's also a few pages about sneacker masturbation! All in all this book is an absolute pleasure not only to read but also to look at and is somthing you'll come back to again and again. "Size isn't everything-IT WILL BE MAJOR." - Snoop Dog SYNOPSIS
Sneakers:size isn't Everything offers a freeze frame of the social phenomenon of Sneaker Culture, including serious consideration of issues such as criminality, counterfeiting, exploitation, value for money, and fashion. With contributions from celebrities, musicians, athletes, teen idols, moguls, sneaker designers and enthusiasts from Kansas to Tokyo, Sneakers offers a freeze-frame storyboard of this social phenomenon. In the process of contacting all known sneaker freaks through the books website, parallels emerged between the internet and sneakers in terms of global communication, technology and obsessive behaviour. The result is a book structured as a website site, with nodes, networks, and key words for the reader to browse through a global conversation.
