Hey, welcome to my page! I’m editing & updating these pages with Apple’s ‘One to One’ help. Please check in every once in a while; I’m adding & improving the site regularly.

One of the things I’m most excited about these days is:

‘The Dave Ellington Organ Quartet’.

My partner in crime, Chris Burroughs and I have been playing with John Bagnato and Mace Hibbard at Twain’s every Wednesday night. The interview you’re listening to is promotion for the Twain’s gig; with ‘us’ playing live from Twain’s in the background! AM 1690’s Neal Cohen conducted the interview and it will be in rotation on the radio station. I’ll be going on Scott Glazer’s excellent show next Wednesday, January 21st at noon to chat up our Twain’s gig and hang with Scott! I’ll be posting mp3’s of the live recordings from Twain’s, that our good friend John Lewis engineered, in the next few days!

The other project, still searching for a name, that has taken shape is a ‘singer/songwriter’ trio project with John Bagnato and John Lewis. We are featuring the original music written by John B and me, along with John L’s tasty drumming and excellent vocals. We are debuting our act in a mini-set at ‘TAPSTOCK’, the fundraiser for the music program for the Sacred Tapestry UMC [United Methodist Community] in Marietta. We will perform a 20 minute set of 4 original songs at 3:55 pm on Sunday, January 18th at 3000 Johnson Ferry Road, Suite 106, Marietta, GA 30062. The music starts at 1 pm and runs all the way until 8:30 pm-ish! For more info, visit their website: www.sacredtapestry.com

As far as recordings go, I’ve posted a baker’s dozen of original prog/rock songs on the ‘Recordings’ page under ‘Vocal’. These have been recorded entirely by ‘moi’ on my Imac using ‘Logic’ software! I hope you’ll give them a listen.  I will be adding ‘live’ drums and ‘other’ vocals to these tracks in the coming months to render a new CD entitled, “Fool”. If all goes well, I hope to have it in hand by Spring time, 2009.

Also, ‘Chevere’ Latin-jazz tunes are loaded on the ‘Recordings’ page under ‘Instrumentals’. You can purchase the ‘Baila Mi Ritmo’ CD from the link provided.

There are several YouTube videos of my organ groups. See the videos here, or navigate to the ‘YouTube’ page from the toolbar at the top of this page.   Please send comments to me at: ellington.david@gmail.com
