Elka knits

Ms.  Lorraine left a comment yesterday about the knitting gods perhaps frowning upon my shawl knitting.  Perish the thought!  I prefer to think the knitting gods are frowning upon the fact that I have 3 lace pieces already on the needles and I needn’t be working on another.  So today I pulled out the Spiderweb shawl to work on during Speech therapy and I finally got proper oohs and aahs.

A teacher walking by kept looking at it and stated that must be the thinnest yarn ever.  Then she walked past again with her class and fellow instructors and pointed out the knitting to them.  Then she came by again on her own and asked to look at the shawl.  Oh you are a true artist she exclaimed.  A piece so fine should cost thousands and thousands.  I will stop with the rest of the compliments that flew my way because I am feeling a wee bit big headed.   But I have been heartened by the fact that not all non~knitters consider handknits shoddy and cheap.

Sirdal is on the patterning at top of first sleeve.  I sewed down the hem for proper measuring and it is looking good.  Hopefully I will be able to show you a picture soon enough.

yarny days and knitterly evenings to all, Elka
Finally!
