About the groups...

The Norris Jazz Bands are auditioned groups of instrumentalists which are current members of the Concert Band. Rehearsals for this group are in the mornings at 7:30 Monday through Friday. The Jazz Bands will have many performance opportunities through the school year, including one concert in the fall semester and two concerts in the spring semester. The Jazz Band also will travel to local jazz festivals in southeastern Nebraska.

    The Jazz Bands’ repertoire will include music which features standard swing, latin, and rock styles. Participation in this group will offer the members many opportunities for improvisation. Members will also be encouraged to participate in small combo ensembles of their own design.
