These informative and enjoyable 2 and 4 day courses cover all the aspects involved in achieving stunning results for both weddings and portraits; from capture through to the final prints and albums. A certain amount of time is also spent on the 'behind the scenes' commercial/sales and marketing areas which are crucially important in succeeding in the market place.
Weddings:
* Posing of bride, groom and groups and the correct order of shots
* Consideration of backgrounds
* The correct use of flash as a main or fill in source and the use of reflectors
* Tips on candid and creative photography
* Advantages of using digital cameras for weddings

* Plus lots more ….
Models in bridal gear are employed to help with the posing of shots. Some of the time is spent on location either at a church or in landscaped grounds (subject to weather). It is appropriate to bring along any photographic work of your own for discussion.
Portraits:
* Studio lighting and set ups
* Equipment
* Styles of portraiture and composition
* Posing of singles and groups
* Digital tips and tricks
* Consideration of props and backgrounds
A model is employed to help with the posing of shots. Much of the work for this will take place in the studio where everybody gets ‘hands on’ experience.
Marketing:
Sales and marketing, advertising options and their effectiveness, legislation, packages and pricing, insurance, terms and conditions - a sample set is given, equipment suppliers, albums etc.
Digital Imaging:
After all the practical work in the studio and ‘out in the field, we return to the digital studio where each guest has their own workstation and all images are downloaded. Photoshop tools useful to portrait and weddings will then be covered and we will be showing you how to make your photos jump off the page! Practical exercises will be undertaken and guests take away finished artworks.
The differences between the above 2 and 4 day courses are that on a 4 day course, we spend a whole day in the portrait studio instead of half a day and on the second day, we cover not only the church setting but also a second venue shoot. There are also more opportunities for guests posing the models and taking their own photos. We also have more time on the essential digital imaging with Photoshop.
