The art of flower arranging is highly developed and taken very seriously in Japan. Along with the tea ceremony and calligraphy it is venerated as the traditional art of Japan.
Dating from the 10th century it represents three parts:
heaven, earth and man. More vertical than western flower arrangements, yet very beautiful in its simplicity.
