Leadership Teams

The Quick Build program calls for the division of labor and planning into a number of teams.  The teams have been established and a team leader has been determined for each.  Please read these descriptions and seek God’s counsel.  If you have an interest in participating on a particular team, please let us know as soon as possible by sending an email to Doctor_E@cox.net.  You may also complete a participation form by clicking here.

CONSTRUCTION TEAM: The Construction Team is responsible for the hands-on construction of the facility.  Team members include carpenters, electricians, plumbers, sheet-rockers, painters, brick layers, HVAC workers, carpet layers, tilers, etc.  You may be licensed or not licensed, but experienced and willing to help.  We will need helpers and assistants.

LANDSCAPING TEAM: The Landscaping Team is responsible to design and provide the landscaping to areas around the new facility and the parking areas.

TRANSPORTATION TEAM: The Transportation Team is responsible to provide transportation for those volunteers arriving at the airport.  They will arrange transportation for the volunteers to get to and from the job site each day.  They will arrange for the children of volunteers to get to and from the children’s program activities each day.  This team will borrow enough vehicles and supply enough drivers to meet the needs of volunteers.

FOOD SERVICE TEAM:  The Food Service Team is responsible for providing three meals per day to all volunteers on the project.  The team, along with the Acquisition Team, will procure a large tent which will house a field kitchen, refrigeration equipment, stoves and ovens, tables and chairs, serving equipment, food and everything necessary to the fulfillment of its mission.

GO-FER TEAM:  The Go-Fer Team is responsible to be available at a moment’s notice to go on any errand the Project Manager deems necessary.  The Team will acquire a dozen two mile range walkie-talkies.

HOSPITALITY TEAM:  The Hospitality Team is responsible for locating homes for all out-of-town volunteers who wish to stay with a family during the “quick-build.”  The Team will try to match up volunteers with compatible families.  The Team will also arrange motels for those who wish to stay in a motel room during the project.

PUBLICITY / PR TEAM:  The Publicity / PR Team is responsible to take advantage of the uniqueness of our project and communicate with local and regional media.  They will issue press releases and host a press luncheon.  The Team will issue formal invitations to local, regional and state officials to attend our Dedication Service.  They will serve as hosts to the VIP’s on Dedication Day.

PRAYER TEAM:  The Prayer Team is responsible to provide prayer support for the entire project.  They will enter into a concentrated time of prayer during the 3-day “quick build” by recruiting individuals to “man” the prayer tent during construction.  Together with the Acquisition Team, the Team will procure a tent to serve as a Prayer Tent during the project.

MEDICAL / FIRST AID TEAM:  The Medical / First Aid Team is responsible for providing first aid in the event of any medical emergency during construction.  The Team will be responsible to recruit and have present a physician or nurse at all times during construction (6:00 AM - 6:00 PM).  The Team, together with the Acquisition Team, will procure a tent and any first aid equipment, medications, and/or other items needed in the fulfillment of their mission.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY TEAM:  The Children’s Ministry Team is responsible to plan and execute a children’s day program during the three day “quick-build.”  Some volunteers will be bringing their children who will need to be in a supervised activity setting for the three days of the project.

ACQUISITION / LOGISTICS TEAM:  The Acquisition / Logistics Team is responsible for the acquisition and storage of all items, construction materials, and equipment necessary for the construction of our new synagogue.  The Team will work with other teams to ascertain their individual needs.  It  will work in close association with the Finance and Administration Teams.

RECRUITING TEAM:  There will need to be 500 volunteers on site for us to successfully fulfill our mission in October, 2008.  Because these will be volunteers, because some will get ill, and because some will change their minds, we will need to recruit 750 in order to have 500 show up on October 14th.  If you have good interpersonal skills, you may be right for the Recruiting Team.  This Team may involve travel and night work to visit other congregations and share our project with them.

HELPER TEAM:  You may not know exactly where you fit, but you just know that you want to help.  We’ll place you where the greatest need is.

CLEAN-UP TEAM:  The Clean-Up Team is responsible for keeping the work site clean and safe.  With this many people working all at once, it is more important than usual to have people who are just there to help keep the construction areas clean so those who have specific construction tasks can accomplish them.

ADMINISTRATION TEAM:  The Adminstration Team consists of all Team Leaders, the Project Managers, and the Rabbi.  This Team will give guidance to the entire project.

Please give prayerful consideration to where God would have you use your talents.  Send an email to Doctor_E@cox.net.  Place the name of the Team name in the Subject line of your email.  You should also fill out a complete participation form by clicking here.
