Joe’s Backyard Band plays a mix of all-ages Americana and roots. It’s kid music for grown-ups and grown-up music for kids. It’s “Mystery Train” meets “All Around The Kitchen” and “Polly Wolly Doodle” vs “Secret Agent Man.” Based in Edgewood, just south of Providence, the band has played library stages, clubs, parks, playgrounds, nifty performance spaces, school yards, the Providence Children’s Museum, a record store, a yacht club, the occasional multi-purpose room and once in a while an actual back yard. Dancing sneakers required.
