mrs. grant-salvi: photo classes

Welcome to the Photo Studio!!

The Photography Studio is a very special place to be and we are so glad that you are a part of it! We offer three (3) levels of Photography  at Wissahickon that cover the basics of black-and-white photography all the way through digital concepts. I believe in teaching beyond the content of photography. I try to teach students to approach assignments with integrity, to problem solve and to challenge themselves. I believe in promoting self-reliance, responsibility and personal growth. It is very important to me that students are able to find success in the Photography studio that carries over into other aspects of their lives.

We have several exciting things going on in our classes this year like the incorporation of cutting edge digital technologies. There were brand new iMacs installed into the lab along with new scanners and printers. The Photography 3 classes are integrating the use of on-line learning tools to collaborate and to fully explore thematic development on large scale projects, such as insight into an “authentic self”.

I hope that you enjoy the Photo Lab and the new web site. We are very proud of our program and the work that our students produce so please feel free to explore the site to learn more about the Photo program at Wissahickon High School.
