On Tuesday April 22, 2008, we visited the Walbridge Barn in Mystic, Quebec. This remarkable structure is still under renovation, but the charming scale of the barn, its commanding architectural presence both inside and out, and its virtuosic timber framing were obvious for all to experience. It is an exceptional site and a magical building that is redolent of the imagination, ingenuity and wisdom of the 19th-century residents of the Townships.
