A B O U T T H E A R T I S T
I am an artist and educator currently living and working in the Boston area. I am affiliated with Abrazos Press, a collaborative print studio at 11 Miller Street Studios in Somerville, MA, and am also a member of the Eclipse Mill Artists Association in North Adams, MA, where I am establishing a live/work studio space in a refurbished textile mill not far from Mass MoCA.
I received my BFA degree with a concentration in Printmaking from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and my Masters degree in Painting and Art Education from the Massachusetts College of Art & Design in Boston, MA. I have taught children and adults in both public and independent school settings for nearly 20 years, and have developed integrated curriculum in the arts for students of all ages. Currently a member of the art faculty at Milton Academy, I have also taught at the graduate and undergraduate level in the Art Education department at the Massachusetts College of Art and have been a visiting artist, a portfolio reviewer, and a mentor to new teachers in my role there.
Recently I was awarded a Visual Artist Grant from the Somerville Arts Council and am co-curating a grant-winners exhibit at the Nave Gallery in Somerville, MA this June. I have also received a Horizon Fund Grant from the Park School, and held residencies at the Vermont Studio Center and the Penland School in North Carolina. Exhibitions include a solo show at the Sandra & Philip Gordon Gallery, Boston Arts Academy, Boston, MA and inclusion in numerous juried and invitational shows including the 50th Annual National Print Exhibition at the Hunterdon Museum of Art in Clinton, NJ, the 29th Bradley National Print and Drawing Exhibition in Peoria, IL, The Cambridge Art Association’s National Prize show, The Creative Arts Workshop in New Haven, CT, and Brickbottom Gallery in Somerville, MA. My work is included in many private and public collections in the New England area.
