Michael Roman

Michael Roman is an LA born, Mexican-American, who currently resides in the Mission, SF. He has worked with Andy Warhol in NYC, and has been commissioned by Carlos Santana, Madonna, and Keith Richards for various projects. Remember the hat box suitcase in “Desperately Seeking Susan”? That was Michael’s work. His works are bold, graphic and blazing with colors, often mixing silkscreen with painting and block prints.

He has hung by his feet to tag overpasses with LA graffiti artists, been spotted dumpster diving for materials and his work has been exhibited in the Getty. A contradiction in the best way, full of creative energy and good spirits. Roman is celebrated for famously hand-stamped, one-off clothing, furniture, fabrics, all kinds of actions and antics. That said, Michael is a most extraordinary and regular guy.
