I work in mixed media and collage, using salvaged materials such as old needle-work tools, yarns, vintage fabrics, beads and buttons.  I cut up old books then I recreate a page on the canvas. Insects are a constant theme in my work - my ladybugs are pinned to the canvas, to be studied, hence the title Entomology for my latest body of work.  If you look closely at the images, it is possible to find other 'things' - lobster claws,  bird and dinosaur feet, scorpion’s pedipalps, and couture dresses.  These all become a part of the Ladies, who in turn become 21st century Fairies.  I found out that scientists believe there may be up to 10 million kinds of ?undiscovered insects? - my ladybugs have now been discovered and all have been named.
