List-making, as boring as it seems, is a way of chronicling life as it happens. It’s a way of reflecting on small accomplishments and measuring the year in events, rather than time.
Being the list-maker that I am, I got the idea for doing a What I Did...What I Wanna Do list from my husband’s cousin, Katie who got it from this blog here. I guess I liked the idea of chronicling last year’s accomplishments and memories, whether big or small, and also setting some new goals for this year. A few of them are completely silly and some very serious. I’m pretty sure I won’t accomplish all of them, but we’ll see how we do at the end of the year. I wanted to put more spiritual goals down, but how do you measure that? How do you keep it from being legalistic? I put down the Bible reading schedule, and even that is one of those disciplines that can either be very meaningful or become just another item on the to do list.
I also wanted to put down fun things, just so life doesn’t get too serious.
