Ways that the Grow Materials Can Be Used . . .

For Small Groups - 2-Year Plan

Start in September and meet at a time when you can have 90 minutes for class. Meet until Thanksgiving and then take a break until after the holidays. Meet January through May and you will complete one testament. Do the same thing the following year.  This an excellent method to have students remember what they’ve learned.

For Sunday School (or one-hour options) - 1 or 2 -Year Plan

It is aggressive to try and teach these lessons in one hour or less.  It is also difficult for students to retain too much content at a time. A teacher could choose to teach each lesson in one 60 minute session however, and doing so would complete the material (both Old and New Testaments) in one year.

Another option would be take two sessions to teach each lesson (many of the lessons easily divide into two parts.) In this way, it would take one year to cover each of the Old and New Testaments and there is a much better chance that students would retain the material. This also provides for more relational and application time.

One Quarter at a Time

Some have taught this material by teaching just 13 weeks at a time and then coming back to the material over a period of several years. This is especially effective when using the Old Testament History or the Life of Christ sections.

A Self-Study

Another option for those who are unable to meet with others is to purchase the Teacher’s Kit and work through the material by themselves.  A person can easily listen to each lesson and fill in the workbook (and even use the Powerpoint files). However, more learning usually takes place in a group setting and, of course, there is more accountability to finish the task.
