This trail is THE OLDEST RAIL-TO-TRAIL IN AMERICA and you are going to race here!

The men pictured above were some of the first members of the Danville bicycle club. These guys jumped on the big bicycle fad of the late 1800's. Before long Danville Bikers were so numerous that Danville Borough passed an ordinance outlawing bicyclers from town. The bikers (being the rebels of the day) decided to form a club, raise some money and buy the narrow gauge rail line that led to the foundry. That was the beginning of the Bike path which we now call the J. Manley Robbins path; location of this 5K and 10K run.

The J. Manley Robbins trail is a beautiful place that Danville residents have privately enjoyed since the 1890's. By participating in our Earth Day 5K & 10K Run you can experience this tree-lined trail that parallels Mahoning Creek for yourself. This 90% trail run promises to be one you will want to add to your "must do" list each year.
