2009 Race Review
The racing gods again smiled on the 2009 version of the 75 Miles of Mon-Tour. Read the 2008 race review and you will be amazed at how similar the weather and race conditions were during the past two years.
We didn’t get much media coverage this year and our photographer had a previous engagement, so any photos fans, family and friends can send to me would be appreciated. Click here to send me an email with photos.
By the numbers:

And yes, we did have some spills on the course.
The fall on Mill Street was apparently minor and involved a few riders. I have been told it was caused by bikes “bumping” in the peleton.
The second fall was more serious and involved a rider attempting a turn at a high rate of speed on the descent after the climb up Bald top road. I have heard reports of serious, but not permanent or life threatening injuries to the rider. I would appreciate any updates that anyone might have as to the riders condition. Although falls are part of bicycle racing, the organizers always provided as much support as possible to minimize the risks and to provide the quickest possible medical response.
