It's the day before I leave for the Giro. I figure I'll pack an extra bag so I can bring back some more nuclear waste for Utah. Apparently, there is a company in Utah that really wants to be the recipient of Italy's nuclear waste so, since I'm going to be there, I thought I could help them out. Some strange things happen in Utah - things I don't think get out to the rest of the world, but very much effect everyone. On earth day, I read on the Salt Lake Tribune online that the Air Force burned a lot of old equipment – someone forgot to do a proper check and 5 pounds of uranium got sent to the fire. Not exactly the kind of stuff you want circulating in the air….
Well, I'm not sure when I'll be able to do another update when the Giro starts. I'd really like to say thanks to all the fans that came to the Tour of Georgia. That really made it fun for me. Immediately after the last stage, I went to the airport and got on a flight for Barcelona. I was looking forward to taking a few days easy to recover from the race and jet lag. Those days seem so long but they go by so fast. A few days after arriving, I received an email from the team saying that we were going to have a mini camp in Girona. At least I, and most of the guys, live in Girona so it wasn't bad. I think only a few guys had to commute in for it. We were doing TTT training for the Giro's opening stage. There I will able to debut my new custom helmet.
Good to see Iron Man raking it in at the box office. I wish Marvel would realized that they have more than enough money to sponsor a bike team and step up as our title sponsor. Everyone could be a different character with custom clothing and bikes. We could probably pull off the reality TV thing more easily this way as every guy could assume the personality of a character – now that'd be good TV. And really, what's real about reality TV anyway?
Who saw the movie envy? There is actually a horse on one of my training rides that I call Corky. It's white and looks just like old Corky St. Clair. Anyway, someone must've seen that movie and thought - that's a good idea. I don't know what else to say and this is not an endorsement of any kind but check out
Just glanced at the date it's May 6. My dad's birthday, but he's gone. Let that be a lesson to avoid the bottle kids.
On a happier note my wife is in her last few weeks of pregnancy and will give birth this month to a little boy. That should be cool and I am really looking forward to being a father.
To all those that have been clamoring for DZ Nuts chamois cream, you'll be happy to know www.dz-nuts.com is up and running and we are in the final countdown to the product launch. It should only be a matter of days now.
