All done with the Tour of California. Before the race started everyone seemed in awe of my rain bag to the point of making a little fun of it. I'll admit it is quite the work of art. It's a see through, water resistant bag that is meticulously packed - each piece is labeled so the mechanics can easily and quickly access what I want. Yes, and before it all started one person even mocked my efforts saying "when was the last time it rained in a race in America." The tables turned quickly, however. Halfway through the week, they wanted me to give the team lessons on how to pack a rain bag. That was a hard race -- mostly because of the weather – well, the weather and an illness circulating the peleton. Nonetheless, it was still California - one of the greatest places on earth. Slipstream got taken care of pretty nicely over the course of the week. One of the nicest things was our bus. It had about 20 flatscreens in the thing. There was even a Playstation 3 in there, but unfortunately, I could never find the time to game. Thanks for all the positive feed back on the mustache -- I think I should keep it too. I pulled up to the CSC car on the first stage to say hi to Bjarne and he asked how it was going. I said, "pretty good, I grew a mustache." He told me I looked like shit to which I replied, "I grew it for you man -- I wanted you to be really happy I wasn't on your team anymore." We both laughed and the race rolled on. Part of the reason I want to keep the mustache is that I'm going to have a baby pretty soon and part of me thinks it'll be cool to have all the first pictures of me with him in the hospital looking like this – yes, that's how I see the photo album taking shape. DZ NUTZ chamois cream project is going well. It should be launching in a few months. In the meantime, I've been wearing the DZ NUTZ t-shirt in anticipation of the product coming out. My wife and I are sticking around California for a week. It's going to get close to 80 degrees here today - I think I'll ride to Peets Coffee and then go look at the ocean. I have been watching the Terminator Chronicles the last few weeks -- it's pretty good and, hopefully, it leads into the 4th installment on the big screen to wrap everything up nice and neat. Once I get to Europe, I'll have about 10 days of downtime and I can't decide if that's time enough to justify buying a new gaming machine. Last year in Spain, I exploded my Xbox and even though I was only alone for a short bit, I started cleaning my apartment with Q-Tips I got so bored.
