Runt/X and Shadow went.  Various excuses from others.  Apparently
they did not want to miss Maz's latest miracle part report.

Thurs:
 - 386 miles
 - Standard south route to Venus, 157, 916, catch 174, do the B-Route to Gatesville.
 - Andy's is a bit disappointing.  Processed turkey instead of the real thing, Runt had to
stomp to get pumpkin pie.  Cooper's next year???
 - B-Route to Llano.  The 5's are tasty as always.
 - Out to Lukenbach, down 1376 to 473.  Many many many furry creatures along the
road.  1341 is traded for a straight/safe blast in on I10 to Kerrville.
 - Tradition Movie at the Plaza.  James Bond is getting goofier all the time.
Fri:
 - 383 miles
 - Let's go to Big Bend.  27, 39, 83, 41, 377 to Rocksprings.
 - 55 North of Rocksprings has none (repeat none) of the sweepers it has down south.
 - 277, (now the fun begins) 189, 163, to Comstock
 - From Rocksprings to Comstock is 116 miles and there is NO gas.
 - There are also no bathrooms but there is a lovely little building  40 miles out of Comstock
    that saved Runt & X.
 - 189/163 are very pleasing.  Very light drizzle and nontrustworthy road surface prevented
anything but stately pace but still a nice route.
 - 90 into Alpine is noteable only for seeing how long you can ride no handed on this verrryy
    straight road
Sat:
 - 470 miles
 - 118 to Study Butte.  Starts very nice, straightens out.
 - Into the park, veer left, go to almost end, pictures, go back. 80 mile loop.  Similar
to the Badlands, with some greenery.  Nice.
 - 170/River Road ito Presidio is very cool.  Multiple rollercoaster dips, multiple
'pop over the rise and the road breaks right (or left) and I thought it was
going left (or right)'  Very pleasing, especially since Shadow was leading and
X could watch his helmet swivel looking for the road.  15 miles out of Presidio
it becomes fresh pavement and very attackable.  Curves are marked 5-10
slower than they need to be.
 - 67, 17, to I 10.  Some nice curves
 - 17 from I10 to Pecos/I20 has one curve.  One.  No kidding.  34 miles, one
curve 25 miles out, no elevation changes.  This is the straightest/flattest road in
the country.  The kicker is Shadow went to sleep and had the snap it over
in the one curve.  (By the way, the referenced 'curve' was so slight it
    was not marked.)
 - I20 blast into Odessa.  Thurs/Fri were chilly (love electrics), it was warm
down by the Park/River, it is getting chilly now.  Pack it in in Odessa.
Sun:
 - 380 miles
 - I20 blast home by 3:30.
 - Very chilly.  The miracle neck sock comes into play to cover X's bright red/windburned
nose.  The full face helmet duo chuckle, but X is warm.
 - Panic in some small town off 20.  X's electrics controller seems nonfunctional.  Careful/calm
examintation shows the knob is turning aimlessly/set screws are loose.  Sprint over, steal
Shadow's and tell him some kid took his.  It works.  Controller repair completed once
    we get home.
 - Big Bend is cool, it would be cooler if it wasn't 600 miles away.
 - 1619 miles for the weekend.  I love this stuff.
