Summary:
 - Trip   - Plano TX to Tucumcari NM to Silverton CO to Montrose CO
to Las Vegas NM to Plano TX
 - Pack - Runt/X, B-People, Old People, and Shadow
 - Date   - Fri 08/29 @ 8:20 AM till Mon 09/01 @ 4:00 PM
 - Miles  - 0 trailer (yick) + 1906 riding = 1906

 Fri:
 - Plano to Tucumcari NM
 - 75 N, 380 W, 287 N, 40 W
 - 08:20 AM to 05:00 PM (gained 1 hour)
 - 496 miles
 - Meeting Oldpeople in Decatur @ 9:45.  380 in the morning
   is not a speed route.
 - There is no gas station on NE corner of 380/287.  Looping back
South and ignoring exits while waiting for a crossover means you
drive halfway to Fort Worth.  Silly.  Oldpeople call as we get
to gas station.  They were shunned while they sat under the
    bridge.
  - 106 miles out rain gear goes on and stays on for 150 miles of
sprinkles.  Sky clears, Slash takes the lead and takes us back
to rain in 22 miles.  Suit goes back on until we are 60 miles out.
  - Slash sacrifices her leaking Frogg Togg pants to the hot exhaust
pipe gods.  X highly recommends the 2X large camo suit from
Kmart (Tucemcari is the only town in the US with no Walmart).
Old makes comments about we could use it for a tent and passes.
  - BPeople and Shadow pull out ~3:00PM using the trailer.  Turns
out to be good decision since at 10:30 they hit a downpour
60 miles out.  (Bike crew is dry and warm in hotel)

Sat:
 - Tucumcari NM to Silverton CO
 - 104 W, 518 N, 68 NE, (522 N Bonus), 64 W, 84/64 NW,
    84 N, 160 W, 550 N
 - 08:20 AM to 07:00 PM
 - 476 miles
 - Bad experience last night has soured Shadow/BPeople.  They
tow to Las Vegas while X/Runt/Olds enjoy the sunshine.
 - Stand around at gas station and watch clouds form while
trailer gets unloaded.  Multiple episodes of "putting on
rain gear then putting on cold gear and then going back to rain"
    fill the time.
  - New Mexico Highway Crew turns a sign the wrong way and pack
gets a 15 mile sunny bonus loop up 522.  X decides road looks
unfamiliar and pulls over for quick map check.  Resulting Uturn
    is barely noticed.
  - Should have stayed on 522.  64 over the mountain is cold and wet.
Pack is near revolt at gas station in Charma.  Whines of turn back
are ignored.  (Although when Old's finger fell out of his glove, pack
did whimper sympathetically.).  Story that the white stuff on the
road was ash and not snow did not seem to carry the day.
  - As promised, left turn onto 84 brings sunshine and NEW
PAVEMENT.  Songs were sung up 84 and across 160.  Multiple
car snacks ensured a timely passage since we were running
slightly behind schedule and pack was mumbling about stopping
    in Durango.  Verrrryyy pleasing ride.
  - Grand Imperial Victorian Hotel is quaint.  That means it creaks alot,
you can hear every words spoken, light fixtures hang by wires in
B's room, a drunk shows up at Old's room at 2:00 with flowers
(talk to Slash about that one.) and you get to walk up 3 flights of
stairs.  Since they have no vending machines and Silverton rolls
up at 9:00PM, X gets to trot down to the Brown Bear Cafe to get
Runt's water where they panic if you carry in a six pack.
  - We get info on the hang gliders from a random passerby.  He sends
us to the Pickle Barrel (he worked there) where X gets the largest
10 oz Prime Rib in history.  Apparently the attitude cause scales
    to weigh light.

Sun:
 - Silverton CO to Tucumcari NM
 - 550 S, 160 E, 84 S, 84/64 SE, 64 E, 68 SW, 518 S, 104 E
 - 09:00 AM to 05:45 PM
 - 449 miles
 - New plan.  Instead of pressing on, pack decides to retrace route to
avoid rain and shorten final day.  Thus marks the official passage
   of the DFW riding group.
 - Old people leave rest of pack eating breakfast.  Pack reforms later in
   Charma.
 - A most excellent day.  No rain, jackets off/on dependent on altitude.
Lots of song and dolphin rolls.  This is why you go to Colorado.
 - BPeople leave Taos gas stop first so as to arrive early in Las Vegas
to pack truck.  X/Runt/Shadow pursue and catch them on 518.
B surges ahead, right in the hands of Officer Friendly.  Since he
'really does not want to write a ticket toady', our hero gets off with a
warning.  Second wave tries not to snicker as we roll by the conference.
 - Arrive Las Vegas, Runt/BGirl take off in the truck since 'the bikes
will catch up after we get gas'.  After 20 miles of 90 MPH, guys
attempt to call.  No service, we press on.  60 miles out, we catch
the truck.  Turns out BGirl has no problem doing 85 in the straights.
Good we put new tires on the trailer.

Mon:
 - Tucumari NM to Plano
 - 40 E, 287 S, 380 E, 75 S
 - 07:00 AM to 04:00 PM (lost 1 hour)
 - 485 miles
 - Standard blast home.
 - Shadow takes first leg and pack shows decent form.
  - X takes second leg and pack discipline disappears.  X's neck
gets pained from trying to look in mirrors to find them.  Question
of 'you followed Shadow at same speed so what the ..' is
    ignored.  Sigh.
 - Dry until we hit mist in McKinney.  Truck gets lost trying to find a
shortcut.  This is applicable only because X is left waiting outside
the Den since garage clicker and house key is in the TBag which
is in the truck which is driving randomly around far north Plano.

Weather is cooling, riding bug is back.  Possible trip to Llano/Coopers/
Hill Country next weekend.
