To: dfwvroc@yahoogroups.com From: X <k.yutz@yahoo.com> Date: Sun, 20 Apr 2003 19:14:22 -0500 Subject: [dfwvroc] Easter - Fri   - 175 to Athens     - 100 straight miles.  Gas in Athens     - hooked up with 2 Harley riders, they were heading to Galveston as       well   - 19S     - 804 and 1615 were missed, probably cause it is 753 E   - 84 E, 323 SE, 294 E, 228 SW, 3016 S, 227 ES, 21 SW, 227 SE,     7 SW to Kenard for gas.  Do the traditional miss the turn and have to      loop back trick.  Runt chuckles   - 357 SE, 233 S, 358 S, 94 S to Trinity.  Lunch at The Ole House.  Pleasing     burgers.  Backtrack to   - 356 SE, 190 SW, 156 SE, 946 SE to ColdSpring, 150 W, 1725 SE   - After Athens, above is a good tootle route.  Too much red dirt and bumps     to proceed briskly.   - From here on, need a new route cause this is stttrrraaaiighhtttt   - 105 SE, 770 SW, 563 SE     - Directions said 65 E.  Directions lied.  After a 15 mile Uturn:   - 2936E, 562 S, 1985 E, 124 S, 87 SW cross the ferry to Galveston     - Hornswaggled at EconLodge for big bucks and bad room.  Not recommended.     - Shrimp N Stfuff for dinner.  Recommended.   - 465 miles - Sat   - 45N, 8 loop/Sam Houston Tollway      - Get on Sam Houston while it is free cause it cost 3 bucks to get to I10   - I10      - Trip gets replanned when mist/sprinkle starts easy of San Antonio and continues         to Kerrville.  Bob comes out in Kerrville.   - 16N to llano and a very pleasing Cooper's   - Hill Country Suites is good/recommended   - 400 miles of straight - Sun   - Chilly, very chilly   - 16N, 501, 580, 581, 281 to Stephensville   - Hard 8 is not Coopers   - 377, 20 Home   - 266 miles - 1131 for the weekend, nice but too straight
