Dr. Bruker | Health through the Right Food (drastically edited):
Blame for nutrition-related diseases of civilisation can be laid at the door of the 19th century theories about nutrition. Reductionist science analysed chemically that a person received complete nutritive value if consumed protein, fat and carbohydrate
But soon was discovered also necessary to consume minerals. And when finally the first vitamins were discovered, the old theories should have been completely discredited.
Chemistry defined name defined function, in that order. Language so powerfully shapes thought in the culture that it could almost be said to have defined chemistry in the first place (not that it controlled function, though at that level, nano/bio/genentech is poised to, soon).
The New York Times | Unhappy Meals (Dugg) (drastically edited):
terms like polyunsaturated, cholesterol, monounsaturated, carbohydrate, fiber, polyphenols, amino acids and carotenes soon colonized much of the cultural space previously occupied by the tangible substance formerly known as food. The Age of Nutritionism had arrived.
Raw Vegan Radio | episode 17 | interview of T. Colin Campbell | 12:15-13:13 (drastically edited):
“protein” after the Greek “proteios”, “of prime importance”…it was baptised with this awesome power…most of the research was devised to discover why it was so terribly important.
early 1900’s literature refer[s] to protein as the stuff of civilization itself. It was an indication of human progress.
protein was synonymous with meat
plant protein was demeaned
Alive Foods | Dr. Robert and Shelley Young | There Is No Disease (drastically edited):
medicine prefers to describe diseases in terms of chemistry. When you’re depressed, you aren’t suffering a lack of sunlight; you are suffering from a “brain chemistry imbalance” regulated by toxic chemicals to alter your brain chemistry.
Not like sunlight’s the only cause or cure, but you get the idea.
name symptoms a disease
the language is backwards
makes it sound like osteoporosis strikes, then you get weak bones
the symptom is not the cause of disease… pharmaceuticals manipulate chemicals to adjust symptoms
The name “diabetes” is meaningless to the average person. If it were called Excessive Acid Disease, the solution would be apparent; less sugar, eliminate animal proteins…But that would be too simple for the medical community, so the disease must be given a complex name that puts its solution out of reach of the average patient.
Compare Catholic ceremonies’ use of Latin to alienate and disempower their followers with a foreign, unknown vocabulary.
If cancer were actually called Latent Tissue Acidosis…
Compare the essentialist, lexical, hamstrung thought and choke-chained response vis a vis global warming:
The muted reaction to our impending disaster comes down to…the name.
Global is good.
Warm is good.
Even greenhouses are good places.
How can “global warming” be bad?
I'm not being facetious. If the problem were called “Atmosphere cancer” or “Pollution death” the entire conversation would be framed in a different way.
The New York Times | Unhappy Meals (Dugg) (drastically edited):
Humans deciding what to eat without expert help…is seriously unprofitable if you’re a food company, distinctly risky if you’re a nutritionist and just plain boring if you’re a newspaper editor or journalist. (Or, for that matter, an eater. Who wants to hear, yet again, “Eat more fruits and vegetables”?) And so, like a large gray fog, a great Conspiracy of Confusion has gathered around the simplest questions of nutrition—much to the advantage of everybody involved. Except perhaps the ostensible beneficiary of all this nutritional expertise and advice: us, and our health and happiness as eaters.
Scientific reductionism is an undeniably powerful tool, but it can mislead us too, especially when applied to something as complex as, on the one side, a food, and on the other, a human eater. It encourages us to take a mechanistic view of that transaction: put in this nutrient; get out that physiological result. Yet people differ in important ways.
There is nothing very machinelike about the human eater, and so to think of food as simply fuel is wrong.
Also, people don’t eat nutrients, they eat foods, and foods can behave very differently than the nutrients they contain.
what reductive science can manage to perceive well enough to isolate and study is subject to change, and we have a tendency to assume that what we can see is all there is to see.
Vegan Straight-Edge | Opioids in Common Food Products (drastically edited):
amino acid chains or peptides
Over 150 non-protein amino acids derived from plant materials have been chemically characterized. One of the problems with these amino acids is their ability to imitate and replace normal amino acids in protein synthesis.
A system flooded with enough xeno-phyto-peptides provides no proper material for protein synthesis, makes it harder to form them, and crowds out and interferes with its proper processes. DNA is made of amino acids. Plant opioids literally make us less human.
peptides taken up after digestion interfering with many normal enzyme functions, possibilities for ill health from wrong kinds of protein are very broad.
Including carnitine, a protein necessary for assimilation of nutriment within cells, and root of the word “carnivore”, “meat eater”, which animal-killers claim self-justification on the basis that deficient vegan diets may produce too little within the body. Yeah, that makes animals healthy eating, allright.
Same goes for B12, reliant upon intestinal bacteria which eat sugar, so the essentialist game of “scientific” nutrition fails to address this issue since you can’t consume X and yield Y out of it, you have to have conditions right for something else to step in and generate the process.
And, of course, plenty of unnatural sources of disturbing agents.

The Independent | Pollution: Where have all the baby boys gone? (drastically edited):
boys are becoming hard to find on the Chippewa Indian reservation in the gritty town of Sarnia, in Ontario’s “Chemical Valley”
communities downwind of the complex also have less dramatic reductions in male births, while those upwind do not. And many studies have shown sex changes in fish and wildlife in the lake nearby.
Our Stolen Future | Phthalates tied to genital deformities in boys (drastically edited):

Be it choking preponderance of animal proteins or foreign peptides or chemical invaders, the materials circulating in our bodies can easily be used supplanting normal cellular life cycles, including protein synthesis and DNA replication. We literally become less human with these substances in our bodies.
Humans don’t do well with external proteins, no matter how much of it we’re made of. It’s sort of like drowning in water no matter how much of it our bodies are made of. Our bodies require themselves to take charge of protein synthesis and combination, which is actually blocked by stuffing the system with fully-formed, wrong and incompatible, let alone interfering and pernicious, proteins or peptides or foreign chemical substances and bioengineered agents, and it is facilitated by the provision of protein’s building blocks, amino acids, in proper synergetic form.
Good health of course requires far, far more than operational protein synthesis and DNA replication. As a matter of fact, the more we know, the clearer it becomes how malleable DNA really is, and how profoundly our system’s state effects what it becomes, above and beyond the logistical susceptibilities and vulnerabilities at the physical level of DNA’s directly involved life-cycle mechanisms. And this is to say nothing of the developmental effects of, say, endocrine disruptors at the systemic level. This isn’t a matter of essentialist human nature’s being displaced by defects, this is an undermining of the integrity of our bodies as functioning, whole organs. Interference and disruption are on the same spectrum as systemic developmental aberrations, mutations, and failures. We need to start looking at lack of health and instance of aberrant development as one and the same displacement of normal equilibrium. There’s not some foreign problem to solve which would right everything, it’s all the same crime molesting proper development.
Essentialism would have us on an endless hunt, a wild goose chase, searching for some tangible or explicit explanation for what it is that makes life thrive, but our uniqueness as beings cannot ever be compatible with any philosophy defining our wellness by our selves rather than us, who we each as individuals are, as we find ourselves, for ourselves, to be.
There’s no human nature; we’re all too unique to consider one to be especially based on physical characteristics. What is clear is that there is a definition of humanity at that level which the beings stuck in it become less oppressed by under certain conditions, but any notion that dynamics of the reality in which that we’re trapped determine our nature or even our awareness, understanding, or knowledge thereof, to me defies the very definition of life as unknowable, and of self-awareness as evidence of greater existence and broader perspective on the fact of our own being, the very foundation of independence.
Dr. Bruker | Health through the Right Food (drastically edited):
natural foods contain biologically active substances essential to assimilation of food
all too easily damaged—for example through degeneration by heating, canning and processing.
Just plain spoilage is a nearly insurmountable logistical hurdle.
it is important that foods be classified by biological value instead of calories and nutritive substances [often mandated by labeling laws].
HPS Health | Food Profiles | Salt (drastically edited):
the processed-food industry has cornered the market on vital food, then refined and denatured it for “convenience” (i.e. higher profits), duping the public into consumption that undermines rather than supports health.
HPS Health | Food Profiles | Processed Food (drastically edited):
Although the food industry has duped the public as well as government health agencies into believing that their products are safe for human consumption, there is abundant scientific evidence to the contrary, and this information is in the public domain, openly available to anyone who seeks it.
HPS Health | Cleansing Theory | Autotoxemia (drastically edited):
under the same conditions some people “catch” colds and other contagious diseases, while others remain immune.
It is not the “germs” at fault, for germs of all sorts float constantly on air and enter food and water. It is lack of normal resistance due to auto-intoxication.

Wikipedia | Essentialism (drastically edited):
Essentialism is the belief that characteristics, all of which any entity must have to belong to the group defined.
An essence characterizes substance or form. It is permanent, unalterable, and eternal. Classical humanism has an essentialist conception of an eternal and unchangeable human nature.
rawganique.com | Hemp Information (drastically edited):
Botanically, hemp is a member of the most advanced plant family on Earth. It is a dioecious (having male and female and sometimes hermaphroditic—male and female on the same plant), woody, herbaceous annual that uses the sun more efficiently than virtually any other plant on our planet, reaching a robust 12 to 20 feet or more in one short growing season. It can be grown in virtually any climate or soil condition on Earth, even marginal ones.
For those whom believe sex is biology is nature is humanity, and also for those whom believe God is nature is the human being is “essence” is sex. I’m reminded of Jurassic Park’s portrayal of frog DNA’s switching gender as the fulcrum enabling biogenned dinosaurs’ reproduction (however specious (no pun intended) any supposed science behind the story might be, today frogs do switch gender, (in contrast to having their gender destroyed and mangled and warped as in the case of endocrine disruption, etc.) along with many, many other examples unearthed (no pun intended) in the bad old days of “gay is the new black” in the early 1990’s).
Without selective breeding, hemp’s THC is another in the long line of euphoric sedative cultivars dragging humanity into the hells of civilization, despite hemp seeds’ unparalleled nutrition and bioavailability, and with the possible exception that it does not block awareness of pain, unlike grains/opiates, only supplies artificial reward.
Jerry Hunt | How to Kill Yourself Using the Inhalation of Carbon Monoxide Gas (drastically edited):
Very low concentrations of this gas can cause life-threatening, life-compromising and consciousness-compromising states. It is tasteless. It is odorless. Hemoglobin likes it better than oxygen. In fact, the result of the gas will not be a grotesquely disfigured corpse, but it’ll be a pink, bright and healthy-looking one, in fact sometimes too pink. Long exposure causes the hemoglobin to absorb enormous quantities of CO gas, and it produces a very glowing, radiant red state. That’s one sign of carbon monoxide poisoning.
