Dustin the Hindu

Going off my previous post, I want to look deeper at this fact of religious birth. I was born a Christian in the U.S., where Christianity is the major religion. There is absolutely no reason why I would ever even consider becoming a Hindu. But why? Why not? Why will most people reading this blog never think about becoming a Hindu? There really isn’t a good reason, other than the fact that why live in a Christian culture with little Hindi influence, so the though never crosses our mind.

So when considering salvation coming only through Jesus, why would we ever think for a moment that Hindus would even consider becoming Christians? It would never even cross their minds, just like becoming a buddhist rarely crosses your mind. It just wouldn’t, and doesn’t happen.

Missionaries are a different thing, but how many of them reach the general population of predominantly non-christian cultures?

All I’m saying is, when we look at the only way to heaven being through Jesus, we like to rationalize the other religions by saying that they “could convert if they wanted to”. But they probably aren’t. And it’s just the same as condemning them to hell right now before their life has played out. They’re not going to convert most likely. And because they didn’t know Jesus, they’re out of luck.
