Others who have done it tell me that putting this corner of a web site together is the tough part. There’s an option to be brief, or to go endlessly on. If I go endlessly on, there would seem to be little purpose for you to dig deeper into the site, where all of the good bits are.

And what does a writer write? Words that make people say: “Holy crap, good stuff!” Or nothing much at all. It’s like asking an artist at a cocktail party to draw something. Like what? One Renaissance guy, when asked to show his best stuff, drew a perfect circle. Cool. But do you then ask him to sign it? Not much of a thing to take for Show and Tell, and who would believe you anyway?
