I swear I’ll put something new up here soon. In the meantime, here’s another stroll down memory lane. The first album I ever sent out for review, Itchy Scalp Theater, was led off by this jaunty little number. It’s a four-tracker. Done in my little attic studio in Little Rock AR. I took the title from a little pink packet of artificial sweetener that was in my line of sight when I wrote these completely nonsensical lyrics. But I’ve thought since then that it was a pretty accurate descriptor of the sound of the song. I like the bassline, particularly in light of the fact that my bass at the time only had 3 strings on it. That’s just how cheap I was back then. It’s from 1995.
