It’s Time for Change

So much has been going on lately, both in the world and with me!  I was really excited about the election last week and so happy that Obama won!  I think that this country really needs some change and the time is now for a new face and new ideas to make that change!  I went to the voting polls with Levi from Causecast to see how it works.  There were so many people waiting patiently in line to make their voice hear by casting their vote.  It was really obvious how important this vote was to all the people that showed up!  I can’t wait to be able to vote myself (even thought I did vote on Nickelodeon Channels Kids Pick the President Campaign and Obama won there too!)  Obama’s speech after he won was awesome and really inspiring.  I wonder what kind of puppy his kids are getting to live in the White House with them?

Yesterday I went to the Tony Hawk Stand Up for Skateparks event.  I interviewed people on the red carpet for Causecast www.causecast.org and asked them about their Causes were and what the change in the world they would like to see.  I heard a lot of cool answers from people ranging from BIG’s (Rob & Big) recycled toilet paper to Mia Hamm wanting to help find a cure for Cancer.

The most inspiring person I met all day ( really, one of the most kind and inspiring people that I have EVER met in my life) was Jamie Lee Curtis.  She was so much fun, so kind to me and has a wonderfully caring outlook on life.  She wants to make the world a better place by encouraging everyone to get involved to make a difference (hey, sounds like me with The Planet Us www.theplanetus.com ).  I hope I get to work with her in the future because her smile makes my day!

Everyone, if you don’t have a cause that is important to you then FIND ONE!  If we all do our part to make change, the world will be a better place.

I also have to remind everyone to keep thinking about my friends who are fighting Leukemia back home!  I have been reminded too often lately about how scary this disease is and even though I am doing good, other’s aren’t so lucky.  2 friends passed away recently, 2 more people I know are fighting so hard, and 1 little boy in Tampa just relapsed.  I am scared everyday that I might relapse one day too.  Please consider joining the National Marrow Donor Program Registry so you might save the life of someone in need!

Until next time,
Your friend
Pat
