Latin Music Festival

It was a wet and cold day for a drive at the Latin Music Festival in NYC!  We had a booth at the event which was at the South Street Seaport!  There were thousands of people that came down to hear the music and see the vendors, even though the weather was horrible!

Mildred Perez is another amazing person just like Chris Reilly!  She emailed us several months ago and asked how she could help.  She set up several drive locations for us this week in and around NYC starting with this music festival.  DKMS provided 2 great volunteers who came to help and we ended up registering 71 new donors (with most of them being different ethnicities that are critically needed on the registry!  It started to rain so hard during the drive that our booth was in the middle of a flood zone but besides wet feet, jeans and boxes of supplies there was no harm done!

Tucker and I had to sneak away for a meeting uptown about our Australia drive and since the meeting just happened to be next to the huge Times Square Toys R Us, we couldn’t resist going in!

Over all we had a great day and a successful drive in a new type of location!  1062 new donors added so far!
