Australia is all about its Rugby and football! We learned that firsthand today with a visit to the Sydney Swans. There are different rugby type leagues in Australia and each one has different rules. The Swans are the Aussie Rules League which is like our NFL. The game is pretty confusing with a lot of running, jumping, kicking and throwing. The guys were really nice and taught Tuck and I some of their moves. I was pretty good at it.
After our visit to the stadium we went across the street to a local park and practiced our boomerang throwing. Did you know that boomerang’s were invented to hunt Kangaroos? They would throw them to hit the Roo in the head and knock it out. Here in Australia you see Kangaroo steaks on the menu. I dont know if im going to try that!
Tucker got a Koala jacket and everywhere we go people want to “cuddle him” cause he is so cute like a Koala. Koala cuddling is illegal in most of Australia, you can pet them but supposedly cuddling them stresses them out. I don’t know how they can be too stressed out because we were told that they spend all day getting drunk off the oils in the Eucalyptus leaves! Some life!!
