About Tom
Tom has broad and deep multicultural, organizational, international business and project management expertise.
At world leading companies he has built up strong experience in international business and project management, including with Barco, Dredging International, Caterpillar and Chrysler. Tom has effectively operated in fields, ranging from high tech display solutions for air traffic control; dredging, environmental and marine engineering works; and international contract logistics services. He has successfully held international management functions in area sales & marketing, business development, project management, logistics and purchasing. He further got involved as active shareholder in a SMB in IT consultancy and led a successful divestment there.
He has extensive experience in multicultural environments, operating projects and negotiating agreements, often in roles with high autonomy. He has lived, worked and traveled on all continents. He has operated extensively in Asia (from China to Australia and from India to Japan) and in Europe (Belgium, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Scandinavia, Baltic states). He has operated successfully with US companies. He has also lived an operated in developing countries in Asia and in Africa in a UN operation. He is conducting a research project on the Middle East and Central Asia.
Tom enjoys operating in multicultural environments linking up with various experts and professionals. As a consultant to organizations in their critical projects in Asia and Middle East, he focuses on solving differences in cultures and environments.
