Death is Not Your Lord

Romans 6:8-9, in the Arthur S. Way translation. It says, “Well, if we have died along with Messiah (and have so been accounted righteous), we have a right to believe that we shall also share His new life. For we know that Messiah, after having once risen from the dead, can never die again; death can never more claim lordship over him.”
What are the implications of this?  What exactly is lordship?  What role does a lord have in our lives?
1)    A lord has a voice. A lord speaks his wisdom and establishes structures by his words.
2)    A lord has keys. Nothing under a lord’s lordship is restricted to him.  He has the keys of systems that cause things and people under his lordship to function in an effective manner.
3)    A lord has authority. The lord has the most influence and is able to express the greatest level of control over all under his lordship.
4)    A lord has power. He has the muscle to create and produce what he desires.
