Countless cultural identities and philosophies are seeking to attach to our minds, shape our thoughts and perspectives, and have us perform in certain ways.  These "principles of the world" can weigh us down and make us slaves.   Colossians 3:3-4,9-11 says that Christ is our label, our title, our identity, our all.   Colossians 2:8,20 says that through his death, Christ has crushed every principle and philosophy of culture that seeks to corrupt our perspective of God's reality.  Now, we live in Christ and under his awesome rule--free from the controlling power of all labels and empowered to express Christ to everyone and in everything.
