School Districts: Fremont township is adjacent to Gratiot County to the South and Montcalm County to the West allowing for multiple school districts. The school districts are Shepherd, Mount Pleasant, Vestaburg, Alma, and Montabella schools.

Commerce: Even though Winn is an unincorporated community, Fremont Township is home to Morbark Inc. Bandit Industries, Inc. has facilities in Fremont Township, and there are several service companies serving the needs of commerce like Winn Telephone Company and FirstBank.
