One of the most significant, and perhaps the most obvious, change that will occur is changing the name of the church from Point of Grace Church to Harvest Bible Chapel of Jacksonville.
Names are very important in the Bible.  Today we usually name a child well in advance of his or her birth, using family tradition or what we think has a nice sound to it.  Things were different in biblical times. Families usually named children based upon the circumstances surrounding their birth, like Jabez (“pain”), whose mother suffered greatly in delivering him.  At other times, though very rare, God assigned names to children for his divine purposes, like Isaac and Jesus.  And then you have those whose names were changed, like Abraham (formerly Abram), Sarah (formerly Sarai), and Paul (Saul).  The name change reflected significant growth or effectiveness in their lives.
Point of Grace Church has served as a great name for our new church for the last few years.  By looking to become a Harvest Bible Chapel, we are not rejecting our previous name or identity, we are simply responding to an opportunity that we believe will result in significantly increased effectiveness.

Changing the Name of Our Church
