The DIXON Family homepage

Glad you dropped in. It was probably an error on your part that brought you here, unless you are a member of my family. Well, now that you are here, stay for two minutes, and learn about me and my family and our interests. After that....................well, the web's a huge place to continue surfing.................

"Learning HTML is not unlike learning how to write when you were a child. The difference is that, unlike those first attempts, these feeble tryouts are placed not on the fridge, but on the web, for millions to see, and laugh at."- David P Dixon. 1999

My name is David Dixon. Will people be interested in my webpages? Probably not. Am I interesting enough to have a webpage? Probably not, although I think I have led a very interesting life so far, mainly because I have one of the best jobs in the world. If that sounds overly simplistic, let me ask how many folks get the daily satisfaction of helping new lives come in to this world?

I am a labor and delivery nurse. The story of my life is here, always a work in progress!!!!

I have a couple of real passions in life. One of them is nursing.

My other passion in life is my family.(Click for pictures).

I have a few interests in life - my wife, Luningning, a wonderful graphic artist, would contend these are passions, too!!

  • Computers - in particular Macintosh. The family has several Macs, including a 6220CD (used now only to harvest spare parts), a PowerMac 6500/300 (used as a file server), 2 iMacs, an iBook 14", a Blue and White G3, a 17" PowerBook, and a G5 iMac. To round off our supply of Apple products, we each have at least one of various flavors of iPod. We also have two iPhones.

  • Internet - which takes up a large part of my spare time. I spend some enjoyable hours chatting with nurses around the world. And now I have a wonderful new toy - a fast, 'always-on' cable connection that is f-a-a-s-s-t!

  • Motorcycles - in particular Harley-Davidson. My ex scoot is a Sporty, as can be seen from the above picture. Unfortunately, I broke an ankle in September of 2000, which has not healed well. The result is that I was not able to enjoy my Harley as much as I would like, and when we moved to Colorado, I donated it to charity. Since our move, I also suffered another injury, a traumatic severance of the little finger of my left (clutch) hand, which has weakened that hand somewhat.

Update: June 2008. I bought another motorcycle, this time not a Harley. I bought a Suzuki C50 cruiser, and I am enjoying riding in this beautiful state of Colorado. Fortunately, I am able to use the clutch easily. Just hard to find four-fingered riding gloves!!
